60 Books to Read Before You Leave Byerley Park.
As part of our continued drive to instil a love of reading in our pupils we are proud to share our new reading challenge that aims to encourage the children to read a range of 60 books before they leave school at the end of Year 6.
The list has been compiled from a wide range of book reviews and includes timeless classics as well as some contemporary stories and authors.
The onus is on each individual child and family to record the stories that they have read and to keep their ‘60 Books’ reading record safe. Upon completion the children will receive a special certificate and a small gift as a reward for their achievement.
All of the books on the list are in school and are available to borrow and read.

World Book Day 2022
Here are a selection of pictures from World Book Day. Children spent the day dressed in their pyjamas, dressing gowns & ‘oodies’ and brought their favourite bedtime story to school with them.
Wednesday Assembly is Reading Assembly!

Secret Reader. Ssh!
Every half term a mystery member of staff shares a favourite story or poem with a class that they don’t usually teach. The children have no idea who will be reading to them until the Secret Reader steps into their classroom!
